About the School
Computer science is a discipline that plays a key role in our 21st century knowledge and information society and aims to advance education and research in all areas related to computers. As computer use expands and informationization advances widely in all areas of society, the subject areas of computer science are also expanding significantly. In line with this trend, the department offers a wide range of computer science courses, including data structures, computer architecture, Unix/Linux, databases, software, automata, algorithms, data communication, performance analysis, artificial intelligence, and data mining.

Academic Activities
Major Society "Semtuljae"
Started from a small group in 1999, this is a club where seniors lead juniors and juniors follow seniors to learn, with the basic purpose of forming a bond between seniors and juniors. Based on the C language, which is the most basic language in the computer field, students are interested in C++, Java, Linux systems, etc.
Major Society "FAN" (Free meeting Active studying Nice ending)
FAN, which started as a club in the former Department of Computer Science, was officially established as a major society in 1997. It actively participates in various undergraduate events, educates new students, publishes academic journals, and contributes to the enhancement of the status of the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering and the improvement of students' skills through regular academic events such as academic presentations and academic festivals.
Institutional Security Club "Cat-CERT/Cat-Security" (Compromise Incident Response Center)
This is an information protection and security-related club that aims to prevent computer information security incidents that may occur on campus networks in advance and minimize damage through immediate response measures in the event of an incident. Cat-CERT/Cat-Security, which is led by Catholic University students, is not only active in on-campus activities, but is also a member of the National Federation of Information Protection Clubs and the National Federation of University CERTs, and is actively engaged in academic activities both on and off campus.
Algorithmic Problem Solving Study Club "ALCUK"
ALCUK is a group that uses algorithms and data structures to solve problems. The members improve their skills through regular seminars during the semester and during vacations. Every year, we participate in many competitions such as ACM-ICPC, a national university algorithm competition, and Samsung Coding College Competition (SCPC), and have achieved good results in the preliminary and final rounds.
